Powdair Attracts Big Bird Sean Pettit, As Management Team Takes Off In Style

Start-up airline powdair has successfully bagged a new Chief Financial Officer who brings a wealth of experience from previous roles in the industry with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and fastjet.

Pettit’s appointment has nailed down a key position in the fledgling company’s management team and confirms the bold and dynamic intentions of the airline’s enterprising tactics to stamp its authority on the industry.

The full-time position will commence with immediate effect and is based out of the company’s headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and base in Sion, Switzerland.

Pettit’s announcement brings strong, commercially focused and creative finance skills to powdair, with extensive operational, financial planning, analysis and business partnering experience included. His skills as a finance leader in multi-cultural international businesses, including roles for two of the UK’s biggest and most recognised, innovative full service airlines, and more recently an African based ‘low cost’ SME start-up business, is second to none.

Zoë Ombler, Head of Customer Experience, said:

We’re delighted to announce Sean’s appointment as CFO of powdair, he’s a perfect fit for the team with an ideal balance between experience and drive to help take us forward from our launch and beyond. Having someone like Sean on-board our airline is testament to all we’ve achieved so far and his track record is unparalleled in the industry.

Pettit said:

I’m really excited about my new role with powdair and the chance to be in right at the start of the journey is an opportunity not to be missed. There’s lots of work to do now because ticket sales have been strong from the word go, with some dates already sold out – that’s a great way to start a job and bodes incredibly well for the future of a new airline hitting brand new routes.
