Dave Ryding To Compete In Crans-Montana Night Slalom, Wednesday January 16

Crans-Montana is holding a one-off night slalom ski race on Wednesday, January 16 on its Piste National, under floodlights, with an international roster of some of the world’s top alpine skiing athletes including Great Britain’s number one skier Dave Ryding (currently in 7th place in the World Cup slalom standings), Olympic Gold Medallist André Myhrer and Switzerland’s Daniel Yule.

The event is free to members of the public and starts at 17.30 hrs, ending at 20.30 with a prize giving ceremony. The format follows a traditional World Cup race, but has been shortened down with a first run taking place at 18.30 and a second at 20.00 hrs. It’s organised by the ski resort of Crans-Montana and not affiliated to the International Ski Federation (FIS).

It’s a fun event with a highly competitive atmosphere, with food, drink and entertainment in the finish area.

Dave Ryding commented:

I am looking forward to racing again, and especially a race with less pressure. My weekend wasn’t ideal in Adelboden so it is great to get to race again so soon after! I think the level of skiing on display will be really high!!

    Company Information

Crans-Montana is a chic and stylish ski resort located in the Valais canton of Switzerland (French speaking), around two hours by train from Geneva Airport.

The resort is part of the Best of the Alps group (bestofthealps.com)

Two towns, Crans and Montana, merge together to form the resort and both have their own identities. Accommodation is varied, with a strong luxury element including several 5* hotels and a spread of 3* and 4* options as well as self-catering apartments and B&B’s.
