British Artist And BASI Qualified Skier Adam Attew Partners With PFD Skis And Exhibits His Work

British ski brand PFD have teamed up with renowned Landscape Artist Adam Attew to create a partnership that brings craftsmanship and art together on limited edition sets of freeride skis.

Attew has also launched an exhibition of his work in the ski resort of St Christoph, Austria. He will be showcasing his alpine art this winter at his inaugural solo show, which runs to the 1st of May 2019, in the ‘Cathedral Gallery’, the highest art exhibition space in the Alps at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel, St Christoph.

The skis are available to purchase through direct orders to Adam Attew or PFD Skis.

Adam Attew said of his exhibition and collaboration:

It has been a busy winter so far, with the exhibition in St Christoph and the partnership with PFD Skis. The feedback has been fantastic and working together with both Rupert from PFD and the team at the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel has been a pleasure. I look forward to more collaborations in the future and more opportunities to partner with like minded brands.

About Adam Attew

Throughout his childhood Adam was taken to visit the Alps every summer and winter, so his love for the mountains grew from a very young age. Over the years the mountains and unbridled majesty of nature has become a passion for Adam, which has fuelled his exploration in capturing these experiences on canvas.

Adam now visits the mountains with skis in the Winter and hiking boots in the Summer, but always armed with a sketchbook and camera. Adam has taken to ski touring and helicopter to access more and more remote and varied scenery and landscapes, in the quest to continue his love affair with the landscape of the mountains.

Adam holds BASI Alpine Ski and Telemark instructor qualifications and is a member of the prestigious Kandahar Ski Club. When not travelling, Adam is to be found in his art studio in the Surrey Hills of England.

    Company Information

In 2012 Pure Freeride Design was born out of a young designer’s passion for quality craftsmanship coupled with an equal passion for skiing.

PFD began its journey in a purpose built workshop, driven towards creating the perfect blend of materials, design, and a ‘no gimmick’ attitude to freeride skiing. Every detail is planned and executed to deliver the highest standards of performance and aesthetic, with zero margin for compromise.

At the heart of PFD is a dedication to the careful production of bespoke handcrafted skis; every set made to order for a limited number of passionate skiers each year. After finishing a product design degree, Rupert Gammond, founder of Pure Freeride Design, went straight to the mountains. Over the course of six seasons, both passions of creativity and freeride skiing merged together to produce fresh, purposeful designs with a pure, minimal approach.
