Crans-Montana Awarded The Family Destination Label For 2019-2021

Different stakeholders within the resort of Crans-Montana, Switzerland, have worked together side by side in order to renew the ‘Family Destination’ label for 2019-2021. The renewal of this certification confirms Crans-Montana’s desire to guarantee and promote a particularly special welcome for families.

The destination easily met the numerous conditions required by the Swiss Tourism Federation in order to obtain the 2019-2021 ‘Family Destination‘ label.

New of 2019: Crans-Montana now offers parents a childcare service in its nursery provided for visitors. This nursery, which is designed to reflect the universe of Bibi the Marmot, the famous Crans-Montana mascot, offers children from 2 to 8 years old different indoor and outdoor entertainment, games and activities, all led by professionals.

The entire service chain is proud to be able to offer a welcome adapted to families: from transport to accommodation, via restaurants – all stakeholders in the destination have worked together to obtain this result. Amongst the strict criteria demanded for the label infrastructure for families such as playgrounds, picnic and barbeque areas, hiking paths that are accessible with pushchairs, and swimming lakes.

What’s On Offer For Families In Crans-Montana

There’s a wide variety of activities on offer in both summer and winter for families in Crans-Montana, including: minigolf, ‘acrobranch’ courses in the trees, horse riding, a climbing hall, water-skiing, a library, paintball and bowling. In winter, the meeting point for families is Snow Island, when the famous flat of the Severiano Ballesteros golf course is transformed into an island of snow sports.

And it’s on the golf course that Bibi the Crans-Montana marmot welcomes little ones of all ages to his house, offering a host of free activities such as crafts, games, painting on snow, sledging races, snowman competitions, as well as a library corner, all supervised by Crans-Montana Tourism and Congress staff. Just a few steps away from Bibi’s House you’ll find the snowtubing run, where the bravest can hurtle down the slope tucked into an enormous inflatable inner tube.

And although it’s rare to be missing out on sunshine in Crans-Montana, you should always have a Plan B in the event of bad weather. Once again, families will be delighted to discover FunnyLand, a centre for indoor leisure destined for 0 to 12 year olds, and which opens its doors during school holidays. However the different businesses in Crans-Montana don’t just want to steer families towards certain activities or infrastructure, together they commit to a real family-orientated dynamic with lots of events for children of all ages, creating opportunities for meetings and exchanges.

The different partners who came together on this project are particularly proud of the Family Destination label, as only 2 destinations in French-speaking Switzerland have been awarded it, notably Nendaz and Crans-Montana. Crans-Montana Tourism and Congress would like to thank all their local partners, as well as Andros, the company linked to the label, and without whom it would not have been possible to obtain the label.
