Snoworks Ski Courses are now running throughout the month of July in the resort of Tignes, France.

Several different courses are on offer for recreational skiers including Ski Skills, Race Carve and Junior Race Camps – and for qualified ski instructors, Ski Instructor Training, Eurotest and Test Technique. The skiing takes place on the Tignes glacier ski area, with accommodation based in the resort that has been operating since the middle of June.

The minimum level required for the Ski Skills course is Snoworks level 4 (comfortable on red runs and easy black runs and can ski all day with a stop for lunch). This course is designed to develop skier’s all-round performance to help prepare them for the winter season. Race Carve courses are available for adults and juniors and focus on skills required for skiing gates and include GS (Giant Slalom) training – minimum level good red run skiers that can carve turns.

For anyone looking to train for their ski instructor qualifications, then the Ski Instructor Training courses provide an opportunity, off season, to learn from some of the best coaches in the business. Instructors can also train for their higher level qualifications that require competition ski racing. The Test Technique course trains instructors in slalom skiing (qualifies instructors to work in France as trainee’s) and the Eurotest training prepares instructors to pass the ultimate test – a high speed giant slalom race that opens the doors to full qualification status. Passing the Eurotest involves competing against the world’s top ski racers and getting within a percentage of their time (18% for men, 24% for women).

Phil Smith, director of Snoworks Ski Courses, said:

Tignes is an absolutely fantastic place to ski and also relax during the summer, with mornings on the slopes and afternoons either relaxing or taking part in all the other summer activities on offer here.
