  • The 3 Valleys and Tarentaise regions of the French Alps are close behind
  • 32 resorts saw over 100 transfers in 2024 with Mayrhofen on 115
  • For the 2024 season, Alps2Alps launched shared transfers for the first time and numbers are expected to increase significantly in 2025

Alps2Alps, the leading transfer company for skiers and snowboarders heading to the mountains, has published its latest ski resort data on who goes where.

The results reveal that the top eight most popular resorts are concentrated in the French Alps, with Morzine leading the way. St Anton in Austria claims ninth place, with Verbier securing the top spot for Switzerland. Courmayeur remains the most popular Italian resort, solidifying its place in the hearts of winter sports enthusiasts.

With over 300 ski resorts across the Alps listed, Alps2Alps continues to demonstrate its extensive reach. However, over half of these resorts only see one or two transfers per season. These smaller destinations, such as Folgaria in Italy and Gaschurn in Austria, often do not receive enough traffic to justify regular transfer operations. Despite this, the demand for transfers remains significant, especially at the top resorts, which see high volumes of visitors each season.

The top 30 resorts accounted for more than 11,000 transfers in 2024 alone. In comparison, the remaining resorts garnered around 3,000 transfers collectively. This data underscores the concentration of skier and snowboarder traffic at specific resorts, with the most popular destinations consistently generating a substantial share of the transfer market.
