Swiss resort of Crans-Montana has launched a new family festival titled Etoile Bella Lui, after the famous local fairy that lives in the region.

Families will be able to follow paths illuminated with the light of lanterns to a craft market and Ferris wheel in the centre of town that also includes a central food area, complete with regular visits from Father Christmas and his helpers. During the evenings, special shows and events will take place close to the ice rink, including stories for children, street artists, figure skating and light shows.

The festival takes place from December 6, 2019 to January 5, 2020.

Pierre-Henri Mainetti, Head of Sales for Crans-Montana, said:

As Crans-Montana has gained the Family Destination Label from the Swiss Tourism Federation and is only one of two resorts in the French speaking part of Switzerland to be awarded the label, we have continued to dedicate our winter and summer program to offer something very special for families. The Bella Lui festival will not only add something extra for families visiting the destination before, during and after Christmas, but also attract new people to a resort that they might not have known much about before.
