The Ski Club of Great Britain is extending its reps programme and is expanding the number of resorts by eight, meaning there’s now twenty four ski resorts where members can take advantage of this unique service.

With 97% of Ski Club members saying they are planning to go skiing this winter (results of a recent survey conducted by the Ski Club in partnership with Snow + Rock), it means the vast majority can take advantage of the service that is designed to ensure that members have the very best possible time in the mountains.

Ski Club reps have four main aims – organising social skiing for members, promoting safe and responsible recreational skiing, arranging a fun and varied weekly events plan and ensuring members are aware of the range of Ski Club benefits. Ski Club reps aren’t there to guide or lead groups on the mountain, although they can ski socially with members.

The new resorts for this winter are, Soldeu (Andorra), Salbaach-Hinterglemm and Soll (Austria), Champoluc, Cortina, Courmayeur and Madonna di Campiglio (Italy), Baqueira Beret (Spain). The existing resorts where Ski Club reps are based include, Ischgl, Kitzbühel, Mayrhofen, Obergurgl, Zell am See (Austria), Davos, Grindelwald, Klosters, Mürren, Verbier, Wengen, Zermatt (Switzerland), Cervinia, Sauze d’Oulx (Italy), Jackson Hole (USA), Whistler (Canada).

General Manager of the Ski Club, James Gambrill, said:

“Bookings are now very strong for this winter season and being able to increase the number of our reps in some of the key resorts that our members like to visit is a real boost for the 2022-23 winter season. With the general decline in British staff in resorts that are on-hand to help facilitate holidays, having someone there that knows the destination inside and out is a real added benefit for our members. The Ski Club is all about skiing and socialising with like-minded people and the resort reps bring this all together in a leisurely, but also organised way”.

Any member of the Ski Club can use the services of a rep in the twenty four resorts where they are based. Non-Members can join a social group for one day. Reps can be found via the Ski Club app and members can pre-register their intention to join in with group activity before arriving at the resort.

About The Reps Training

The Ski Club of Great Britain rep programme is based around volunteers that participate in a comprehensive training course that includes 11 days of on snow training, in the French resort of Tignes during December. Whilst Ski Club reps don’t guide or lead members around the slopes, the course does cover a variety of modules including personal ski performance, mountain safety and group management. The course is of an exceptional standard and led by qualified mountain guides such as the Ski Club’s safety expert, Bruce Goodlad.
